New public art partnership expands Sculpture Walk in Springfield
A new partnership between Drew Lewis Foundation and Sculpture Walk Springfield has placed three large outdoor sculptures on the Fairbanks campus in the Grant Beach neighborhood, extending the city’s public‑art network.
The pieces come from the Fall Curated Collection and feature expansive works by Texas artist Jeffie Brewer, whose international reputation adds weight to the installation. Situated at 1126 N. Broadway, they greet visitors ahead of the upcoming Fairbanks Fall Festival.
The collaboration also installed five additional sculptures along the Boonville corridor, linking downtown Springfield to Commercial Street and reinforcing the organization’s "Access to All" mission of bringing art into everyday neighborhoods.
Community leaders, including Executive Director Bridget Bechtel, note how the sculptures complement the campus’s existing arts and programming, and the partnership promises annual rotations of new works, turning the site into a continually evolving cultural hub.
The Fairbanks Fall Festival, slated for Sept. 25, will showcase the new pieces alongside dinner, ice cream, a bounce house, and other family activities, inviting residents to experience the art in a festive setting.
